Mortgage Rates at 39 Year Low

Long-term mortgage rates have reached their lowest level since 1970 this week. Freddie Mac reports that the average 30 year fixed-rate mortgage fell to 4.78% which is the lowest rate since Freddie Mac began keeping track in 1970.

Adjustable rate mortgages eased up as well, but one-year adjustable rate mortgages are averaging about the same as the 30 year fixed rates at 4.77%.
