The famous Jaws surf spot is known as Peahi by locals, and graces our north shore between mile markers 13 and 14 on Hana Highway. With waves cresting at up to 70 feet, Jaws is one of the most renowned surf spots in the world. Seeing as there is no beach at Jaws, much of its fame attributes to the evolution of tow-in surfing that is necessary in order to access the monster waves it produces.

You will find the best conditions between the months of December and February. The reefs magnify the swell energy in a way that produces well-defined right and left directional barrel waves.One should only attempt to surf Jaws by invitation, preferably from a veteran tow-in surfer only. If you are not an expert big wave surfer, you should not risk trying one of these waves.
