The Maui Invitational Music festival is a summer celebration of the efforts of local music artists. Held in the months of June and July, a variety of workshops and concerts are made available to residents and visitors alike. This festival is presented by the nonprofit Arts Education for Children Group (AECG), but participants include people of all ages.

The AECG intends to reach out through the festival to create opportunities for students to study and play alongside accomplished instructors. Workshops throughout the festival will be open to vocalists and musicians of all ages. Categories are specific to skill levels.

Get ready for Maui's first annual Paia Fest! This is a very exciting new event for Maui residents, especially those in upcountry and the North Shore. The date is set for June 28th, on Sunday from 12-10p.m.

The entertainment lineup looks pretty spectacular, including over twenty music acts. Dozens of vendors and local artists will work to benefit the Maui Food Bank, the Dharma Center, Mana'o Ranch and the Maui Breast Cancer Fund.

West Maui's Keiki will be performing in the upcoming hula fest next month on the 25th and 26th. This event is a classic favorite for visitors and locals. Onlookers are routinely awed by the incredible performance skills of these kids. A consistent mixture of talent and grace keep each audience bigger than the last.

The event is free to attend and, in conjunction with hula performances, will feature Hawaiian artisans and crafters that will demonstrate lei making, wood carving and other traditional skills representing Hawaiian culture.

The much awaited West Maui Hospital and Medical Center is throwing a gala celebration on the 4th of July. After ten years of lobbying on the part of West Maui residents, you can bet that the development of this hospital is an exciting event. West Maui residents will have much closer access to medical care when it is complete.

Not only had the distance been a concern for West Maui residents, but the knowledge that Maui's existing medical facilities could not accommodate everyone who needed medical attention in the case of a natural disaster has also motivated many members of the community to pull hard for this facility.
